As a kid, I loved stories. I’d make up stories and tell them as a way of delaying being put to bed.
Before bedtime, I would regale my grandmother with tales of how the queen of ducks in the poultry yard had resolved a major conflict with the kingdom of geese, who wanted to take over the entire pond. I’d describe how the dragonfly soldiers thanked the duck queen and gifted her a necklace of tiny flowers in gratitude. Alongside all the creatures from my grandmother’s farm, my imagination knew no bounds, and stories flowed through her yard day and night.

Years later, after graduating the Faculty of Theatre in Bucharest, I discovered pantomime, a universe that allowed me to physicalize my creative dreams and show others the worlds I spent my time in. But still, something seemed to be missing.

At the same time, I was teaching acting classes for children. Inspired by their incredible capacity to play and create stories without prejudice, I began to play alongside them and create characters using my voice. I wanted to show them that the Wolf had a deeper voice, that Grandma’s voice was more guttural and trembling, and that Little Red Riding Hood had a crystal-clear voice. Alongside the children and our stories created together, it felt like I was living a second childhood.
When I started doing voiceover projects and recording character voices in the studio, it felt like everything had been leading up to that point. Here, I can use all my skills and knowledge to bring all kinds of characters and worlds to life.
